“Pay-ad: Watch advertisements and get paid” – An enterprising idea from young entreprenuers in Mumbai

Getting paid for watching advertisements may seem crazy but its for real! This oeuvre is the brainchild of three Mumbaikars who are also chartered accountants in the making. These commerce graduates – Akash Desai, Pratik Thakkar and Chirag Mehta – joined hands to start Pay-ad. Launched in May 2013, Pay-ad is an online video marketing startup that pays people for watching short, entertaining video advertisements.

Singapore’s second ‘walkabout’ happened on May 17, 2013, where over 100 startups opened their doors to welcome strangers for a beer, a chat, and peek into their charming shophouse offices. No emails, no ‘fixing up a meeting’, just walk about and walk into offices. And taking into consideration the fact that I am still trying to find my feet with the startup ‘scene’ in Singapore, this turned out to be the perfect day!
