The thiray team has Kumar who takes care of the sales & user support, Nandhu who manages the design and graphics, Vandhana who assisted in turning their idea into a prototype, and Shruthi who writes content. These friends from various industries (IT, Insurance and Media, of course) generously dedicate their spare time to thiray.
“After working in the IT industry for a decade, I contemplated on whether I should learn Management or pursue my passion as a filmmaker. That and my earlier attempt to become an actor made me see the absence of a transparent platform for upcoming talent and business; so I took the plunge,” says Vishnu, Founder, Thiray, explaining the motivation behind starting up.
For individuals in the media industry, thiray is their “Media Identity”. The thiray profile serves as the story of the person’s media journey so far. It isn’t an online directory listing the contact details; thiray brings together the media, educational institutions, companies, clients, federations and talent on a common platform to network, promote, recruit, share and do business.
The look and feel of the thiray has been deliberately toned down to make the user instantly differentiate us from the glossy media websites or regular social networking websites. As a policy they do not to gather any more personal information than necessary for career or business interactions. The users appreciate the fact that the purpose is intended towards establishing yourself in the industry and not building fans.
They have started working on an SMS based app. There are many services in the pipeline: a user managing his complete media project, cradle-to-grave, in thiray. Thiray wishes to evolve as the leading technology & process solutions provider for the media industry. They are poised to scale up and welcome investors / mentors who can join them.
